Can I collect extra information (add form fields) along with payment?
Yes. This is one of the beautiful things about Cheddar Up – it’s not just about payments. It allows you to collect all that extra information that comes with being an organizer or seller. You have a couple of different options when it comes to collecting information. You can add a question to an item (e.g., tshirt size, name of registrant, etc.), or you can add a separate form (with as many fields as necessary) to your collection page. This flexibility is what allows you to use Cheddar Up to collect for almost anything.
Our Item and Form questions can be added easily from within the builder. There are several question types to choose from:
- Open Text
- Multiple Choice
- Phone Number
- E-signature field
As you create questions, you can add an optional description (sub-text for your questions which offers additional information or direction) and you can make the question "Required" for check out.
Click to save your question and continue adding questions until you have completed your form.
As you build your form, you can always click "Preview" to see how it is shaping up.
**Please note that your form will show in a secondary view after viewing your Items. In order to see the form, you'll need to add an item to the cart and click "Continue" to advance to the form step.
Also - if you need to collect information WITHOUT payment, you can do that as well. Just skip the Item step and simply add a form to your page.
