When it comes to fees, we keep it simple. Since our inception, we set out to make group organizers’ lives easier. That means avoiding fees. On Cheddar Up, group organizers can always collect indefinitely for zero setup, monthly or transactional fees. Collecting on Cheddar Up is always free.
By default, payers can pay via credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay for a transactional convenience fee of 3.5% + $0.59. If you prefer to have the organizer absorb that fee instead, you can adjust your settings accordingly. If your community needs more options, organizers can turn on additional payment methods including:
- Echeck (available on Pro and Team)* Pro Plan: 0.75% (minimum $1.00)
Team Plan: Flat $0.59, which can be as low as a flat $0.59. - Cash/check, which is free.
*eCheck is available with US currency only.
Common Questions
Yes. If preferred, organizers can absorb transactional convenience fees instead of passing them on to payers. The organizer also has the option to absorb only echeck fees. You can change this setting from within Build > Settings. If convenience fees are absorbed by the organizer, they will be deducted from the total amount received (e.g., If someone pays you $10 via a credit card, you will have $9.06 available to withdraw).
If you prefer to have the organizer absorb convenience fees, but you would also like to give payers the option to cover those fees at checkout, this can also be done. Go here to learn how to turn on these other convenience fee options.
