Point-of-sale settings

Organizers can control two Point-of-Sale settings on their iOS and Android mobile app. These settings can typically help speed up in-person lines.

Skip signature

Customer signatures are not required on the Cheddar Up mobile apps' point of sale. Organizers can disable signature on POS checkout by taking the following steps: 

  1. Log into your Cheddar Up mobile app.
  2. Click the gear icon in the lower right bottom navigation.
  3. Click “Point of Sale”.
  4. Toggle on “Skip Signature”.

Do not require payer name and email

If knowing the names and emails of point-of-sale payers is not important, organizers can make these fields no longer be required during POS checkout. This is often done in an effort to avoid long lines. Read the question below to learn more about the downside of disabling these fields. To disable these fields take the following steps: 

  1. Log into your Cheddar Up account on the mobile app.
  2. Click the gear icon in the lower-right bottom navigation.
  3. Click “Point of Sale”.
  4. Toggle on “Make name and email not required”.

Are there cons to not collecting name and email on POS?

If there are any issues with a payment - such as a dispute or the need for a refund - not being able to associate unique payments with unique payers can be problematic. You’ll want to weigh the pros (speed) and cons (lack of reporting) when you choose to disable “Payer information for receipt” during point-of-sale checkout on Cheddar Up’s mobile apps.
