Managing a peer-to-peer fundraiser is similar to managing any other collection on Cheddar Up with a few additional customizations and controls, which we cover in this article.
Steps to manually add participants
While you can view your leaderboard and participant activity on your main fundraising page, you can also track this information on the Participants table that’s visible within the Participants step of the builder. Via the the Participants table, you can do things such as:
- Sort participants by name, email, team, # of donations, total raised and status.
- Filter participants by status
- View participants by active or archived status

Manage athons and charge donor pledges
NOTE: "Athon" type peer-to-peer fundraisers are coming soon!
Because athon peer-to-peer fundraisers have the unique ability to allow donors to make activity-based pledges, there are a few additional nuances and responsibilities for group organizers to be aware of with athons, including:
-
Pledges and donations tables: On the Manage view of your athon fundraiser, you’ll see two tables - one for Pledges (donations promised by donors on a per-unit basis), and one for Donations (pledges that have been both recorded and charged). Once a pledge is made, it will be recorded on the Pledges table. Once a pledge has been charged (by the organizer), it shifts to the Donations table.
-
Record participants' completed activity: On the Participants step within your fundraiser builder, there is a column for “Completed”. There are two ways in which this column can be populated with the participants’ total activity:
- By the participant: If you turned on the "Allow participants to enter their completed activity" setting within the Peer-to-Peer Options step when creating your fundraiser, then your participants will see a field on their participant fundraising page where they can record their completed activity. Once the fundraiser ends, and the timeframe you set for entering completed activity has passed, the units entered by participants will be recorded within the Participants table within the “Completed” column. The organizer will still have an opportunity to revise any recorded activity submitted by participants prior to the pledges being charged.
-
By the organizer: The organizer can also choose to enter all participant activity manually (without giving control of this to the participant). To do so, from the Participants table, the organizer can click "Edit Completed Activity” (available under the three-dot menu to the right of each participant or via bulk actions/checkboxes) or click "0" within the "Completed" column.
NOTE: Each pledge can only be charged one time. Therefore, it’s important to make sure that the total activity entered into the “Completed” column on the Participants table is accurate prior to charging a pledge because there is no way to make changes to a charge or to make additional follow-on charges to a pledge.
- Initiate pledge charges: Once a participant’s total activity has been recorded by the organizer, it is the organizer’s responsibility to charge the pledge. This can be done individually by clicking the three-dot icon to the right of each pledge, or in bulk, by clicking the teal “Charge Pledges” button at the top of the pledges table. Clicking this button will charge any pledge that has a quantity entered within the “completed” column. Upon each pledge being charged, the donor will receive a detailed payment confirmation with their total.
